The original Sarah Connor will play Linda, an eco-conscious marijuana grower who, along with her life partner Fiona, helps Nancy’s endeavors in Seattle take bloom. Also joining the cast for several episodes is Prison Break alum Peter Stormare. His character is described as a hot-tempered German chef who is anything but charmed by his new ambitious dishwasher, Andy (Justin Kirk).
Linda Hamilton, best known for her role as Sarah Connor in ‘The Terminator‘ and ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day‘, is joining the cast of the award-winning Showtime series ‘Weeds‘.

The Ausiello Files reports that Hamilton will appear in several episodes of the sixth season, playing an eco-conscious marijuana grower in Seattle, WA, helping out Nancy, who’s on the run from Southern California. The role marks Hamilton’s first return to episodic TV since 2008′s ‘The Line’ with Sharon Lawrence, and her casting comes after the news that original cast member Elizabeth Perkins is leaving the show had proved unpopular with fans.
Perkins, who has been nominated multiple times for Emmys and Golden Globes for her role as alcoholic mother-of-two Celia Hodes, announced in May 2010 that she would not be returning for the sixth season. Instead, she will be playing James Marsden’s mom in the Easter Bunny comedy, ‘I Hop,’ which is due out in movie theaters next year.
The show, which first aired in 2005, follows the fortunes of suburban mother Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker) who turns to selling marijuana to support her family after the sudden death of her husband. It has been one of Showtime’s consistently highest-rated series and the sixth season is currently in production.
Swedish actor Peter Stormare (John Abruzzi in ‘Prison Break’) is also reported to be joining the show for several episodes. He’ll be playing a German chef working alongside Nancy’s brother-in-law Andy Botwin (Justin Kirk).
The sixth season of ‘Weeds’ premieres on Showtime on August 16th.
When Weeds returns to Showtime on August 16, it will be without Celia Hodes
Elizabeth Perkins has left the show. The Hollywood Reporter states the actress will focus on her movie career and develop a sitcom in which she’ll star.
